Tigers, Cubs, White Sox And Kings Back In Action

by Dan Cash

After a day off Monday the Detroit Tigers welcome the Cleveland Indians into Comerica Park tonight. The defending American League Central Division Champion Indians come in struggling mightily having lost 8 straight games. The Tigers aren’t exactly the hottest team in the league having gone 3-and-4 on their West Coast road swing.

The Tigers send Justin Verlander to the hill while the Indians counter with 0-4 Jeremy Sowers. Sowers take the place of C.C. Sabathia who was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers last weekend. Tigers and Indians coverage begins tonight at 6:45 on 590 KZO.

On the North side the Chicago Cubs welcome the Cincinnati Reds to Wrigley Field tonight. The Cubs are fresh off 7-players being selected to the NL All-Star team while the Reds are coming off a sweep of the Washington Nationals. Ryan Dempster is on the mound for the Cubs while Aaron Harang goes for the Reds with first pitch set for 8:05.

In the Frontier League the Kalamazoo Kings are back in action in Southern Illinois tonight. The Kings have won 3 straight and have the overall lead in the Frontier League by 2 games over the Traverse City Beachbums. The Kings and Minors coverage begins tonight at 6:45 on ESPN 1660.
