The weekend was still a disaster for a Tigers team looking to pull within 2.5 games heading into Friday's opener of a 3-game-series with the Chicago White Sox having lost 2 of 3.
Sunday's win however does two things for the Detroit Tigers ball club and their fans. One and most importantly it keeps the Tigers only 6.5 games out, instead of a less manageable 8.5 games to end the series.
The bad news that comes out of Sunday's 6-4 win is course the fact that this team is still not gelling and apparently just wants to toy with you...the fans...heart.
The 53-51 Tigers now head on the road to take on the struggling Cleveland Indians at Jacobs Field. Coverage begins at 6:45 on 590 KZO.
The White Sox however head to Minnesota to take on the Twins tonight at the Metrodome.
Notes: Detroit Tigers closer Todd Jones has been relieved of his duties as closer and will be replaced by Fernando Rodney.
