Flat Tigers Still Only 5.5 Out In Central

by Dan Cash

When the Tigers came out flat and uninspired in a 9-4 loss to the Cleveland Indians Thursday afternoon…it seemed the Tigers were about to fall 6-and-a-half games back of the Chicago White Sox in the AL Central Division.

That changed however, when the Minnesota Twins pushed 10 runs across the plate to beat the White Sox 10-6 in a nightcap. Justin Verlander got the loss for the Tigers falling to 8-11 on the season.

Tonight the Tigers begin a 3-game-series with the AL East leading Tampa Bay Rays. The Tigers enter the series looking to incorporate newly acquired reliever Kyle Farnsworth into the late inning rotation. Coverage for the game begins tonight at 6:50 on 590 KZO.
