In the Frontier League a pitching duel ended in a 1-0 Kalamazoo Kings series clincher over the Southern Illinois Miners Thursday. The Kings improve to 30-18 on the season at Rent One Park in Marian; Illinois while John Brownell was the story for the Kings.
Brownell went 9 innings, allowing 6 hits and no runs en route to his 8th win of the year. The only run came when Mike Russell scored on an errant throw in the top of the 5th.
The Kings remain a single game up on Traverse City for first place in the Frontier League. Tonight the Kings coverage begins in River City at 7:45 on ESPN 1660.
