The Detroit Tigers announced this afternoon that Joel Zumaya will spend the next 15-days on the disabled list. Official release below:
"The Tigers today placed righthanded pitcher Joel Zumaya on the 15-day disabled list with a sore right shoulder.
To take Zumaya’s place on the club’s 25-man roster, the Tigers today purchased the contract of righthanded pitcher Francis Beltran from Triple A Toledo.
Beltran is 2-5 with a 4.81 ERA (43.0IP/23ER) in 36 outings with Toledo in 2008."
