In Detroit Justin Verlander struggled yet again as the Tigers fell 7-2 to the Toronto Blue Jays. Verlander lasted only 4 and a 3rd innings allowing 6 runs on 7 hits in his 13th loss of the season. His 13 losses are only 2 below his 2 season combined total heading into 2008.
The Tigers have other issues to deal with however as Gary Sheffield complained about being platooned in the outfield…Jim Leyland disagreed…game 2 of the Tigers series begins at 6:45 on 590 KZO…whether Sheffield will be on the team at that point…remains to be seen.
