Spartans Open Season In Berkley

It’s the first time since a 19-14 2004 loss at Rutgers that the Michigan State football season will open on the road. This season the Spartans are in Berkley, California for a showdown with the Cal Bears.

The Spartans are up against a California team seeking its 7th consecutive winning season. The Spartans will also have to watch out for 4 tree sitters that occupy the canopy of the woods on a site being used to build the University’s new Student Athlete Performance Center.

I could try to explain the situation more thoroughly but instead…here’s a tree sitter that goes by the name…Dumpster Muffin…

The University sent an open letter to ticket holders and posted it on their website…explaining the situation to fans and asking that they remain behind fences erected to contain Dumpster Muffin to a small set of trees.

The Bears and Spartans kick off Saturday with coverage beginning at 7 on ESPN 1660.
