Dan Cash: Blogging From Lincoln, Nebraska

by Dan Cash

An evening arrival in Lincoln, Nebraska painted a picture of perfection, a picture of championships as the legendary Memorial Stadium stood glowing in the distance. Lit up on the side of the building’s end zone it reads: National Champions 1970, 1971, 1994, 1995 and of course the most dear to Michigander’s hearts…a shared 1997 National Title with Michigan.

The Western Michigan Broncos will arrive in Lincoln this afternoon to find hotels sold out, bars ready to accommodate overflow and a host of roads named after Tom Osborne, Cornhusker greats and well…let’s put it this way…my hotel is on Cornhusker Highway.

In other cities, in other towns the Broncos may not be the biggest draw against a BCS opponent…this is not another city, this is not another town…this is Lincoln, Nebraska and as you will hear all afternoon on my 2nd report…this is truly Cornhusker country.

I’ll be live in Lincoln today and tomorrow giving full reports and coverage right here…all thanks to our great sponsors Romence Gardens, Allegis Credit Union, Lassen Automotive, Bradford and Rowean and Millenium Restaurant Group.
