In San Francisco the Cubs took a 2-1 lead in their series with the Giants Wednesday. Tied at 5 in the 8th Mark Fontenot hit a solo homerun for the Cubs to put them over the top 6-5.
Carlos Marmol got the win for the Cubs while Kerry Wood saved it in the 9th for Chicago. Up next the Cubs and Giants play their 4th game finale with the Giants tonight at 7:05.
