Carlos Zambrano scattered 6 hits in 7 innings allowing only 2 runs to improve to 11-4 after a 6-3 win over the Florida Marlins Thursday.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first the Cubs came from behind allowing only one run over the final 8 innings to extend their lead in the National League Central Division to 1-and-a-half games over the idle Milwaukee Brewers.
Ronny Cedeno and Henry Blanco did homer for the Cubs but it was Derrick Lee walking with the bases loaded in the 5th that gave the Cubs the tying run in the 5th. Up next the Cubs and Marlins play game 2 this afternoon at 2:20.
