A Bad Day For Todd Jones

by Dan Cash

After leading by as many as 4 heading into the 7th inning it just wasn’t the Tigers day Thursday afternoon as they fell 7-6 in 11 innings to the Minnesota Twins.

Early in the game Matt Joyce hit a homerun and Kenny Rogers only allowed 3 runs in 7 innings in the start. Tigers closer Todd Jones gave up 2 runs in the top of the 9th.

The loss became more important in the evening when the Kansas City Royals beat the White Sox 4-1 allowing the loss to rob the Tigers of gaining a game on the Sox.

The loss drops the Tigers to 46-45 on the season. Tonight the Tigers send the 7-2 Armando Gallaraga to the hill in search of revenge with coverage beginning at 6:45 tonight on 590 KZO.
