$200,000 In After Tiger Stadium Demolition Story

by Dan Cash

Hours after the Detroit News broke the story that the City of Detroit was being asked to OK the entire demolition of historic Tiger Stadium 200,000 dollars worth of donations reportedly came pouring in to the Old Tiger Stadium Conservancy led by longtime Tigers broadcaster Ernie Harwell.

Harwell says he hopes to bring the figure to 400,000 over the next few days to ensure the beginning of preservation. The 2004 U.S. Census says 10,112,620 people live in Michigan…if everyone donates even a dollar…at least a portion of Tiger Stadium can be saved.

To donate head to savetigerstadium.org or mail a personal check to The Old Tiger Stadium Conservancy at P.O. Box 141193, Detroit, Michigan 48214.
