Xplosion Fall In CIFL Final

by Dan Cash

A last second touchdown by Saginaw pushed the Sting past the Kalamazoo Xplosion 41-37 in the CIFL Championship at Wings Stadium Sunday.

The Xplosion took possession of the ball with a 21 seconds and a chance to regain the lead in their sights. The glory fell short however on the next play, when Xplosion Quarterback Randy Hutchison underthrew Wide Receiver Brian Dolph resulting in a Sting interception.

The loss slowed a raucuous crowd at Wings Stadium, but it wasn't the awards ceremony that caught the attention after the game. Several Xplosion players became disgruntled about their paychecks and let owner Mike Johnson know about it on the field in front of everyone.

Audio interviews with Owner Mike Johnson, Running Back Little Jon Flowers and Head Coach Randy Sparks.
