Western Michigan's Becky Horn 8th At U.S. Trials

In Eugene, Oregon Western Michigan Senior Becky Horn finished 8th in the United States Track and Field Olympic Trials. While Horn won’t make the trip to Beijing this August…she says the 8th place finish motivates her to make the team in 2012.

Horn says this is only her 2nd year running the 800 Meters competitively. She says she didn’t even know she was 8th when she finished.

Horn was boxed in for most of the race before breaking free with around 100 Meters to go. By that time however she was too far behind to become a serious contender for one of the 3 coveted Olympic spots.

I spoke with Becky below...right after the race Monday:
