Padres Drop Tigers 6-2...

by Dan Cash

A solid pitching performance from Tigers rookie Eddie Bonine went to waste as the Tigers hitting remained stagnant once again. In the 8th Placido Polanco stepped to hit a 2-run-homerun to tie the game at 2.

Then in the bottom of the 8th Fernando Rodney walked his only 2 batters on 8 pitches before Casey Fossum walked his batter to load the bases. From there Joel Zumaya allowed 2 singles to give the Padres a 6-2 loss.

The loss keeps the Tigers 7 behind the White Sox who lost to the Cubs earlier in the day. Tonight the Tigers and Padres are back in action with coverage beginning at 9:45 on 590 KZO.
