The Detroit Tigers placed slugger Magglio Ordonez on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a pulled oblique muscle. Ordonez left Saturday's 7-6 win over the Colorado Rockies in the third inning due to right oblique spasms.
The outfielder appeared to pull up as he chased after Troy Tulowitzki's lead-off double. The reigning American League batting champ, Ordonez singled in his only plate appearance and was replaced by Ryan Raburn, who clubbed his first career grand slam and scored the winning run.
Ordonez is hitting .307 with 12 homers and 50 RBI this season.
