Lare's 1-Hit Gem Leads To 10-0 Win Over Washington

By Dan Cash

Kings Manager Fran Riordan called it one of the best pitching performances he's ever seen. Trent Lare was simply happy a bullpen adjustment worked to his advantage.

A chilly night led to a complete game shutout for Trent Lare that featured 12 strikeouts, 1 hit and only 1 walk facing only 29 batters.

The win improves the Kalamazoo Kings to 6-1 on the season good for first place in the Frontier League's East Division.

Offensively it was Mike Russell leading the way going 2-for-4 with 5 RBI's coming from a bases clearing double and 2-run home run before that.

The Kings and Wild Things are back in action Wednesday with coverage beginning at 9:45.
